Kamakhaya & Bhubaneswari
Temple: The Shakti temple of Mother Godness Kamakhya situated on the top
of Nilachal Hill is eight Km. away from the railway station of Guwahati. The
greatest shrine of tantric shaktism finds mention in the inscription of
Allahabad pillar of Samudragupta. Devotees from all over India Converge on this
holy place during Ambubachi and Manasha Puja.

Shankardev kalakschetra Situated in the Panjabari area of Guwahati City,it is an art &
cultural museum showcasing the entire North East under one complex. It has a
beautiful children`s park which will soon have an elevent circular railway for
sightseeing within the campus.

Umananda
Temple: The great Shiva temple situated on the
Peacock Island in the middle of Brahmaputra in Guwahati attracts devotees from
all over the country during the Shiva Ratri.

Assam state mesuem The Assam State Museum was established by the Kamrup Anusandhan
Samiti in 1940 and was formally inaugurated bythe Governor of Assam. Late
Kanklal Baruah was founder president. In the year 1953, it was taken over by the
State Govt. The exhibits of the Museum are displayed under different
sections,viz., Epigraphy, Sculptures, Miscellaneous, Natural
History, Crafts, Anthropology & Folk Art & Arms
section.

Temple: The temple of nine planets situated
on ChitraChal Hill in Guwahati still to-day a center of Astrological and
Astronomical research.

Tirupati Balaji The holy Ancient Temple
of Lord Tirupati Balaji in Tirupatin is located at Betkuchi,Guwahati. Tamil Nadu

MANAS NATIONAL PARK
The only Tiger
Project in Assam, Manas is one of India's most magnificent National Parks. It is
situated on the bank of the river Manas at the foothills of the Himalayas. It is
a well known World heritage site with it's unique combination of scenic beauty
and rare wealth of wildlife. Tigers however are not the only wildlife to be
found here. Manas has its own peculiar faunal features, the rarest species of
which are Hispid Hare, Pigmy Hog, Golden Langur, Indian Rhinoceros, Asiatic
Buffalo etc. Other commonly seen animals are Elephant, Leopard, Clouded Leopard,
Himalayan Bear, Wild Boar, Samber, Swamp Deer, Hog Deer etc.
Manas is 176 kms
from Guwahati by road.

railhead----Barpeta Road Station which is 40 kms away from Manas.
The nearest
airport-----Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at
Guwahati.

JORHAT
Jorhat has
always been a vibrant town- a perfect mix of tradition and modernity. It was the
hub of the anti-British struggle during the pre-independence era.Historically,it
was the last capital of the Ahome Dynasty which had ruled Assam for six
centuries.
Kaziranga is the
abode of rare ONE HORNED INDIAN RHINOCEROS. The Sanctuary teems with numerous
forms of wildlife,such as Wild Buffaloes,Sambers,Hog-deer,Elephents,Tigers
etc.Kaziranga is accessible from JORHAT & GUWAHATI by ROAD.
ORANG

Orang(Rajiv Gandhi) National Park
It is a 'miniature' Kaziranga covering an
area of 78.81 sq. kms. and is situated in Darrang District of Assam. Sixty
percent of the sanctuary is grassland. The animals seen in this sanctuary are
the One-horned Rhinoceros, Leopard, Elephant, Sambar, Barking Deer, Tiger,
varieties of water birds such as the Green Pigeon, Florican,Teal , Goose,
etc.Various other species of birds such as the Pelican, Cormorant, Greylag
Goose, Large Whistling TeaGreat Adjutant Stork, King Vulture etc. have also
found this sanctuary to be their ideal habitat.Orang is 150 kms from Guwahati
and 31 kms from Tezpur.

SIBSAGAR
SIBSAGAR is the ancient capital
of AHOM DYNASTY. The Town is built round the Sibsagar Tank at the Site of

DIGBOI Digboi has the Oldest operating & Second
Oldest Oil field in the world & Digboi Refinery became a centenarian in
2001. Oil was struck in Digboi long before it was found in Middle East. There
are precisely 999 oil wells in Digboi. Coal & Tea are also abundant in the
vicinity.
HALFLONG
The only Hill
Station of Assam and the headquarter of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous
District Council. The city lies at an altitude of 680 meters from sea level on
the majestic hundred year old Lumding-Badarpur Railway Hill Section-which by
itself is a thrilling & rare heritage for Railway enthusiasts. The meter
gauge railway track is a pice of engineering marvel & a testimony of the
courage & determination of the men who created this transportation wonder
with limited technological resources overcoming inhospitable terrain &
natural elements at their toughest. The main tribes of the region are the
Dimasas, Jaintias & Zemi Nagas apart from a host of others. The local
language is Dimasa. By Road – Govt. and private bus service is available to
and from Diphu, Nagaon. Dimapur & Silchar. By Railway- Meter gauge train services from
Lumding & Silchar.
JATINGA
A village in the
vicinity of the Halflong hills, it is famous for the mystery of birds committing
suicide in hordes-a phenomenon yet to be explained. Ornithologists have been
flocking to this place to study the phenomenon. The area is rich in a variety of
orchids & plants species such as Blue Vandas ( a lovely sky blue orchid)-
the only one of its kinds in the world. Halflong has two lakes which offer
relaxed boat-rides.
SILCHAR
Silchar on Surma
Vally of Assam. It is the Gateway to Mizoram & Tripura. The natural Scenery
of the entire district especially in the portions bordering Meghalaya
& Mizoram,is breath-taking. Silchar is Famous for its Cane & Bamboo
craft.
MEGHALAYA
SHILLONG Shillong the Capital of
Maghalaya at an altitude of 1496 meters above sea level has a pleasant
& bracing climate. This is an enchanting colorful town surrounded by
blue hills in exotic wilderness. Shillong is Connected to Guwahati by an all
weather road. It is also connected by air & Guwahati is the nearest
railhead.
Umiam Lake
Located about 17 Km from Shillong.
Umiam Lake is highly popular for a relaxing time. The orchid Lake Resort here
has watersports facilities and the nearby Lum Neheru Park has an aviary and
orchadarium.
CHERRAPUNJEE Argubly the wettest place on earth, it receives a phenomenal
amount of rainfall. The road journey from Shillong (65 Kms) is full of
exhilarating scenery.
ARUNACHAL PRADESH
ARUNACHAL PRADESH -"The Land of The Dawn Lit
Mountains -is India's Land of The Raising Sun". It is believed that a dip in the
Holy tank PARASURAM KUND on the Auspicious day of Makar Sankranti will wash away
ONE'S sins.
Namdapha
Namdapha Tiger reserve in
Changlang District of Arunachal Pradesh is spread over an area of 1,850sq Kms
rugged terrain. Perhaps no other National Park in the World has a Wider
variation of topography than Namdapha National Park.
Malintthan
A Glorious city of 7th to 8th
Centuries noted for its rich Sculpture & Artistry. The ruins of BHISMAKA
NAGAR Place show a mix of the local Tribal and Aryan ways of life. As per
mythology, King of BHISMAKA NAGAR had gave his daughter Rukmini in marriage to
LOARD KRISHNA.
Bomdila
Bomdila is a delightful stopover
amidst apple orchards, lush forests and trekking trails where time seems to
stand still. There are couple of picturesque gomphas here and the craft
centre has a delightful range of hand-woven carpets. Bomdila is famous for its
apple cultivation. In winter black-neck migrated (from Ladakh) cranes can be
seen.
Tawang
With its centuries-old great fortress
monastery against the dramatic setting of the snow-mantled peak. Tawang is
accessible by car in a dramatic drive through mesmeric alpine country. The
sinuous road to Tawang passes through dragon gates on the awesome heights of
great Sela Pass (13,714 ft). Jaswantgarh located here is memorial to the brave
soldier who single handedly tried to hold of the approaching Chinese from the
pass during the 1962 Indo-Chinese war.
WEST BENGAL
DARJEELING
One of the most
beautiful hill stations in the Country. It is connected by the famous Dajeeling
Himalayan Railway (DHR) - a narrow gauge train service which began in 1881. The
journey over the DHR by the delightful `Toy` trains is an unforgettable
experience. Starting from New Jailpaiguri & Siliguri Junction in the plains
, the trains chugs its way along mountainsides & valley to reach Darjeeling.
On the way , one can make a break-journey at Kurseong, another hill resort at an
altitudes of 1458 meters. The Batasia Loop & Tiger Hill are other favourite
spots. Places of Interest: Tiger Hill, Senchal Lake, Bhan Bhakt Sarani,
Observatory, Bhutia Busty Gompa, Yogachoeling (Ghoom) and three smaller Gompas,
Aloobari Monostery, Dhirdham Temple, Bengal Natural History Museum
Mountaineering Institute, Lloyd Botanical Gardens.
Accessibility :
The best way to travel to Darjelling is by the narrow gauge `Toy Train` from
New Jailpaiguri/Siliguri. The nearest airport is Bagdogra (90 kms). A good bus
service links Darjeeling to Gangtok, kalimpong, Mirik &
Siliguri.
KURSEONG
51 kms North of Siliguri and 30 kms South of Darjeeling is
Kurseong, with its peaceful atmosphere and predominantly Nepali population.
Kurseong is a walker's paradise. It gets its name from the 'Kursonrip' or small
white orchid found here. Places of Interest : Eagle's Crag. Accessibility : By Toy Train from Darjeeling connected by road to
Darjeeling, Siliguri and Mirik.
 MIRIK Mirik is situated amidst Picturesque surrounding having easy access from
both Siliguri or Darjeeling. The view of the Kanchenjungha from
here is unique. A natural Lake is an added Attraction. Places of Interest :
Bokar Gompa, Kalamata, Shiva and Humam Temples.
KALIMPONG At a height of
1250 Meters stands the lofty Hill Town Kalimpong, full of scenic beauty. Regular
bus services ply from Siliguri and Darjeeling. Serving Railway station is
Siliguri Junction on Metre Gauge and New Jalpaiguri on Broad Gauge. Places of Interest : The Tharpa Choeling, Tongsa and
Zong Dog Palri Fo-Brang Gompas, Deolo Hill, Dr.Graham's Home, Flower Nurseries,
The Sericulture Research Institute.
COACH BEHAR Famous for Places, Lakes &
Parks, the Beautiful District Town in North Bengal was once the Capital of the
KOCH King's. Nearest Railway Station is New Coach Behar.
JALDAPARA This is a game
Sanctuary. The One-Horned Rhino, Elephant,Leopard, Tiger & a variety
of Birds are its fauna. The Nearest Railway Stations Madarihat(177) &
Hasimara( 127 Km. )respectively from Siliguri.
SIKKIM
GANGTOK
The Capital of Sikkim, Gangtok sprawls
down the west side of a long ridge. Many Points in the city offer awesome views
of the magnificent Kanchenjunga Range, the third highest moountain in the
world. Places of Interest : Enchey Gompa, Chorten &
Gompa, Tsuk-La-Khang, Namgyal Institute of Tibetology, Orchid Sanctuary &
Orchidarium. Accessibility : The nearest
railhead is Siliguri (114 kms). Bagdogra (124 kms), near Siliguri, is the
nearest airport, Regular buses connect Gangtok to Siliguri, Darjeeling,
